  • Dogs growl at empty air
  • Plate observed flying out of Kitchen cabinet and smashed in 2014
  • While watching TV, client heard her name come through the TV
  • An apparition of a petite woman was observed standing at the foot of a bed
  • Water faucets in Bathroom and Kitchen turned on by themselves
  • Client frequently feels like she is being touched
  • Female apparition described as having long brown hair and appeared "serpentine" and a male apparition, described as having short brown hair, button down brown shirt and blue jeans observed near outdoor fire pit during a bonfire
ARRIVAL:

The group arrived on location at 7:05 pm. They brought in their equipment and set up base camp in the Dining Room. They started their control recorders before taking a tour of the location with the Client to see where the claims of activity occurred. The group began setting up equipment. Denys took outside weather conditions at 7:54 pm with a Kestrel 3500 Weather Station. Jarod took indoor baseline readings at 7:40 pm. Baseline EMF (electromagnetic field) and indoor temperature was taken with a DM-X93 data logging device. See the below chart for those measurements.

NOTE: EMF detection of 1.0 or higher can make a person have symptoms of nausea, dizziness, paranoia and the feeling of being watched. Some people are more sensitive to higher levels of EMF than others.

The team then activated their Zoom H1 control audio recorders which were time stamped and attached to their persons along with personal data loggers. Every member of PIM is equipped with a Zoom H1 digital audio recorder, which is used as their control recorder, Extech RHT50 datalogger, and UV flashlight. Control recorders are not only used as another recording device but also to discriminate the sound contamination that an investigator might create during an investigation. Control recorders are started and time stamped first before any other equipment is started and they are turned off last to ensure any anomalous noises can be cross checked. Control recorders are also placed in a Faraday cage. A Faraday cage operates because an external static electrical field causes the electric charges within the cage's conducting material to be distributed such that they cancel the field's effect in the cage's interior. PIM's main goal in using these is to block radio signals from interfering with their audio recorders thus causing false EVP's. The Extech RHT50 datalogger takes a temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure reading once a minute and is used to try and correlate environmental data with any personal experiences an investigator might encounter during an investigation.

A Tascam DR40 RVPR was placed on the Dining Room table. This device is able to record using two types of stereo microphones. One is set sensitive to only sound waves while the other set is sensitive to both sound and EMF waves. This allows comparison later of the two sound tracks to see if anything was recorded in the EMF waves that was not recorded in the sound waves. This is done as there is a theory that Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) is actually recorded from the EMF spectrum and not the audible spectrum. An EMF pump was also placed in this room. This device emits a strong electromagnetic field around it. A theory exists that electromagnetic energy may be a factor in the manifestation of paranormal activity.

A Sony HDR-SR5 video camera and a Zoom H1 audio recorder were placed in the Basement Laundry Room towards the crawl space.

A Sony DCR-SR46 video camera was placed in the side of the Basement opposite of the Laundry Room directed towards the other opening of the crawl space.

A Sony HDR-CX160 video camera was placed in the Daughter's Bedroom along with a Zoom H1 digital audio recorder.

A Sony HDR-XR200V video camera was placed in the Master Bedroom along with a Zoom H1 digital audio recorder. A touch flashlight was placed on a dresser in this room. The touch flashlight is used in lieu of a flashlight that has had the battery compartment or on/off switch manipulated to function in a way that was unintended. The touch flashlight is activated by two contacts being touched, thus closing a circuit and turning the light on.

A Sony HDR-XR200V video camera was placed in the Primary Living Room closest to the Kitchen along with a Zoom H1 digital audio Recorder.

A Sony HDR-SR5 video camera was placed in the Secondary Living Room on the far side of the residence, where the television had turned on and off by itself. A DM-X930 data logging device that simultaneously records various environmental conditions as well as being a digital audio recorder, was also placed in the secondary Living Room. An EM-Vortex, which emits an electromagnetic field in a spiraling pattern, was also placed in this location.

The client and her family left the residence at 8:00 pm. John advised them that he would make telephone contact with them when our investigation was completed.

Shortly after Denys began setting up his video camera in the Basement, he came upstairs and advised John that he thought he may have seen a shadow figure slightly behind him. Denys, Jarod and John proceeded to the Basement to attempt to determine what had occurred. It turned out that the lighting in the area Denys was setting up his camera was such that shadows that appeared unusual were easily created and perceived as being moving shadow figures.

INVESTIGATION:

START TIME: 8:50 pm

LOCATION: Primary Living Room

Denys, Jarod and John sat in different areas of the Primary Living Room and observed several minutes of controlled silence. This allows PIM members to get acclimated to the normal sounds inside and outside the house. The group then began an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session. Various questions were asked in attempt to receive a response in reference to them. No unusual activity was experienced during this time and the EVP session was ended.

END TIME: 9:40 pm

START TIME: 9:42 pm

LOCATION: Secondary Living Room (north end of house)

The team spread out in the Secondary Living Room and five minutes of controlled silence was observed prior to beginning the EVP session.

At 10:02 pm, a loud "pop" noise was heard by all coming from an undetermined room. Several other "pop" noises were subsequently heard as well. It was concluded that these were simply natural sounds of the house settling and contraction of the house components due to dropping temperature. Nothing else was experienced and the EVP session was ended.

END TIME: 10:30 pm

A short break was taken from 10:30 pm to 10:45 pm.

START TIME: 10:45 pm

Denys, Jarod and John spread out in both sides of the Basement. Denys found that his video camera had stopped recording and still had one hundred minutes of battery life left. Denys started the video camera recording again. However, several minutes later, the battery was completely dead and he had to obtain a freshly charged batter. It is very possible this was simply a malfunction of the video camera. After Denys returned and started his camera again, the group conducted five minutes of controlled silence. Nothing else out of the ordinary occurred while the group was in the Basement.

END TIME: 11:20 pm

START TIME: 11:24 pm

LOCATION: Bedrooms

Denys situated himself in the Tortoise Bedroom, where a tortoise is kept in a large tank, Jarod in the Daughter's Bedroom and John in the Master Bedroom. After five minutes of controlled silence, the group began an EVP session. Nothing unusual occurred during this time. The group decided to end the investigation at this time so that the Client could return with her young daughter and put her to bed.

END TIME: 12:00 am

The group packed up their equipment and the Clients returned shortly and they were debriefed as to what occurred during the investigation. The group left at 12:20 am.

EVIDENCE:

CONCLUSION:

PIM appreciated the opportunity to attempt to find answers for the clients of this home. Due to the unpredictable nature of paranormal activity, activity does not always occur when desired. No evidence was captured during the investigation. Regardless of what may be occurring at this home, it is PIM's opinion that there is no intent to harm any of the clients. Should activity persist and further investigations are needed, it is recommended to document all activity and contact PIM.

PIM would like to thank the owner of the house for allowing PIM to investigate their home. PIM hopes they were able to assist the homeowner in getting some of the answers they were looking for.
