What is full spectrum?
Full spectrum refers to a section of the electromagnetic spectrum that includes infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light. Most cameras are designed to filter out infrared and ultraviolet light and so in order to make the equipment able to detect these wavelengths, filters need to be removed.
Why use full spectrum equipment?
The paranormal is a black box of unknown variables. As such, it makes sense to try and cover as broad a spectrum of light as possible when recording in case an anomaly exists outside the visible spectrum of light. There is no definitive evidence that the paranormal exists outside the visible spectrum of light. However, it might and PIM wants to collect as much data as possible on investigations and that is why full spectrum cameras are used when possible.
