Arrival
The team arrived at approximately 5:00 pm after being delayed by transportation complications. As this location was previously investigated by all present team members, no tour was taken. The team unloaded their equipment and began placing it throughout the building as Noah and Gravy worked to block external light into the building where possible. After unloading gear, Brandon and Mitch moved throughout the building and surrounding property collecting photos and video.
On the 2nd Floor, the team placed a Sony FDR-AX53 4K video camera to capture the hallway around the staircase landing. The team also placed a blue Zoom H1 audio recorder in the Clown Room on the 2nd Floor.
To collect data on the 1st Floor, the team placed a Sony HDR-CX160 multi-spectrum video camera in the Men’s Hallway facing towards a door noted on a previous PIM investigation to have closed without an immediate determinable cause. Also, in the Men’s Hall of the 1st Floor, a white Zoom H1 audio recorder was placed, along with a green EDI+ datalogger to collect and log further auditory and environmental data from the area.
In the Basement, a trigger object bank was set up in the Laundry Room consisting of: two bullets, a cigar, a cigarette, a deck of playing cards, a pair of di, a Playboy magazine, a bottle of whiskey, a Bible, a crucifix, a bottle of holy water, a rosary, a cane, and the PIM Platter. The trigger object bank was monitored with a geophone, a DM X-930 Dark Matter Detector, a Zoom H1 audio recorder, and a Sony HDR-CX160 multi-spectrum camera.
Down the Basement Hall, a Mel-8704REM/SDD single-axis EMF detector was placed to monitor any possible changes in light through the corridor. In the Basement Cafeteria, a Sony HDR-CX160 multi-spectrum camera was set up to capture the full space, alongside a green EDI+ Datalogger to log further environmental data.
Baseline interior and exterior readings were take at 6:13 pm and are included below;
After equipment setup was completed, the team went through the building turning on recording devices and providing initiating timestamps. Due to earlier travel delays, the first night’s investigation did not commence until 9:56 pm.
Investigation
9:56 pm – 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway
To start the investigation, the team setup throughout the 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway, spreading out but maintaining visual contact with at least one other investigator. Control silence was performed from 9:56 pm until 10:00 pm, during which the sounds of paint chips and rattling windows due to wind were noted. After that, the team transitioned into an EVP session.
Over the next 20 minutes, the team asked a variety of probing questions hoping for responses. But, after a prolonged period of no notable occurrences happening, the team concluded their EVP session and moved to another location.
10:28 pm – 1st Floor Men’s Hallway
Moving next to the 1st Floor Men’s Hallway, the team initiated control silence from 10:28 pm until 10:31 pm before moving ahead into an EVP session. During this session, at 10:39 pm, Brandon noted a light on the floor near him. Despite asking, this activity was not repeated. Throughout the length of this 24-minute EVP session, no further notable occurrences were apparent.
The team wrapped up this EVP session and moved on to the Basement.
10:57 pm- Basement Laundry Room
Descending into the Basement, the team spread out throughout the Laundry Room and commenced control silence at 10:57 pm, which concluded at 11:00 pm, at which point an EVP session was conducted immediately after. Partway through this session, at 11:13 pm, Noah reported an unexplained sensation around his ear that he described as a twinge, or perhaps a small touch. This activity did not repeat itself, nor did any other investigator report similar sensations during this session.
After a few more minutes of no further notable activity, the team concluded their EVP session and moved across the Basement.
11:18 pm – Basement Cafeteria
Spreading out across the Cafeteria, the team initiated control silence from 11:18 pm until 11:20 pm, and an EVP session followed directly after. At 11:34 pm, Noah reported another unexplained sensation, this time around his neck that he described as a burning or a bug bite. While the nature of this sensation could not be established, no further instances of it occurred nor did any other investigator report similar experiences during this time.
After a prolonged period of no noticeable activity or response to questions, the team concluded their EVP session in the Cafeteria. The team then took a break from 11:40 pm until 12:17 am.
12:20 am – 2nd Floor Men’s Hallway
After concluding their break, the team set up on the 2nd Floor Men’s Hallway, with the team spread out but within visual contact of at least one other investigator. Control silence was held between 12:20 am and 12:23 am with an EVP session immediately following.
Despite prolonged attempts to establish contact during this session, no notable activity occurred and no personal experiences were noted by our team members. This session concluded after 15 minutes.
12:39 am – 1st Floor Women’s Hallway
The team then moved to the 1st Floor Women’s Hallway, where they similarly spread out while maintaining visual contact. Control silence was held between 12:39 am and 12:41 am. An EVP session was held immediately after, but following over 10 minutes of no notable responses or occurrences, the team wrapped up this EVP session.
12:55 am – Basement Joker Hallway
To conclude their first night of investigating, the team went down to the Basement and spread out by the ‘Joker Hallway’ around the padded cell. Control silence was started at 12:55 am and concluded at 12:57 am, followed immediately after by an EVP session.
After a prolonged session, including many attempts to establish contact with the ‘Joker’ spirit said to reside in that area, nothing of note was heard or experienced by any team members. At this point, the team concluded the night’s investigation at 1:15 am and rested up for the following night.
Night Two
8:19 pm – 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway
At the start of the team’s second night at Edinburgh Manor, they positioned themselves in the same area they had started the previous night’s investigation: the 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway. Once more, the team spread out while maintaining visual contact, all in different areas of the hall than during the previous night. Control silence was held between 8:19 pm and 8:22 pm, and an EVP session immediately followed.
A thumping noise was heard by the team at 8:29 pm, and the source of this sound could not be immediately established. At 8:35 pm, Brandon reported seeing a shadow in a closet adjacent to him. Examination could not locate an explainable source for this reported shadow, though no other investigator noticed it.
From 8:37 pm until 8:41 pm, a marquee experiment was performed in hope of improving potential communication. Several questions were asked through this process, though no notable responses or experiences were reported as a result. The team concluded their EVP session after the marquee experiment was finished.
8:46 pm – Rooms 200/201
The team then moved down the hall of the 2nd Floor and set up in Rooms 200 & 201. Control silence was held from 8:46 pm until 8:47 pm, followed right after by an EVP session. Despite numerous attempts to instigate responses or activity, nothing of note was noted by team members or recorded during this time.
8:58 pm – 2nd Floor Men’s Hallway
The team moved to the far end of the 2nd Floor, the Men’s Hallway, for another EVP session immediately following the session in Rooms 200/201. Control silence was held from 8:58 pm until 9:00 pm and was immediately followed by an EVP session in this area.
Despite multiple attempts to establish communication and suggestions to instigate noticeable activity, nothing of note was reported or recorded during this session, so the session was concluded after less than 15 minutes.
9:14 pm – 1st Floor Women’s Hallway
After their sessions on the 2nd Floor, the team shifted down to the 1st Floor and set themselves up throughout the 1st Floor Women’s Hallway, spreading out while maintaining visual contact as much as the infrastructure allowed. Control silence began at 9:14 pm and concluded at 9:16 pm, at which point an EVP session was conducted.
During the EVP session, another marquee experiment was performed between 9:23 pm and 9:27 pm. Despite this experimental communication method, as well as numerous probing questions and requests for activity, nothing notable was experienced or recorded during this EVP session, and it was concluded after just over 15 minutes.
9:39 pm – 1st Floor Men’s Hallway
Moving to the other side of the 1st Floor, the 1st Floor Men’s Hallway, the group re-established themselves spread out across this area whilst maintaining visual contact with each other. Control silence was held in this space from 9:39 pm until 9:42 pm, and an EVP session immediately followed.
After some time of no noticeable responses, sounds, or experiences, the team decided to conclude this EVP session after less than 10 minutes.
9:55 pm – Basement Boiler Room
Transitioning to the Basement, the team first set up in a circle in the Boiler Room, initiating control silence at 9:55 pm and concluding it at 9:58 pm. An EVP session followed immediately after.
Despite numerous probing questions, requests for activity, and other attempts to establish communication, no activity of note was recorded or reported during this session, and it was concluded after less than 10 minutes.
10:07 pm – Basement Laundry Room
Moving out of the Boiler Room, the team set themselves up around the Laundry Room just outside the Boiler Room’s entrance hall. Control silence was held from 10:07 pm until 10:10 pm and an EVP session followed directly afterwards.
During this EVP session, at 10:16 pm, Mitch reported an unexplained burning in his eyes. As Mitch was positioned nearest the north wall of the Laundry Room, beside old machinery and left over cleaning agents, it was suggested he switch places with Gravy, who was positioned on the southern sector of the room. The switch was made, and Mitch reported his eye burning subsided shortly after. Gravy did not report any sensations or experiences while sitting on the northern side of the room.
The EVP session continued for several minutes after this switch, but after a prolonged period of no notable responses, the EVP session was concluded and the team moved on.
10:26 pm – Basement Cafeteria
Following the Laundry Room session, the team moved to the Basement Cafeteria and spread out around the room, in different locations than they had each been in the previous night. Control silence was held from 10:26 pm until 10:30 pm with an EVP session following immediately after.
At 10:36 pm, Brandon reported hearing a sound he described as someone breathing. No other investigator reported hearing this sound, and an explanation for its occurrence could not be immediately established. While the team worked to build off this experience to establish communication or instigate further response, the EVP session was interrupted by unsanctioned visitors to the site at 10:40 pm, at which point the session was paused to address this concern.
Following the resolution of this interruption, the team decided to take a break and return to the area afterward.
12:14 am – Basement Cafeteria
Returning to the Basement Cafeteria after their break, the team set themselves back up throughout the space and started a new EVP session. No control silence was held during this time.
During this session, at 12:22 am, Noah reported hearing a sound that he described as a rumble or a low-toned moaning. No other investigator reported hearing this noise, and Noah did not report hearing it a second time. An explanation for this sound could not be immediately determined. This proved to be the only unexplained event reported during this EVP session.
Following a time of no noticeable response or activity, the team concluded their EVP session and moved back from the Cafeteria into the Joker Hallway.
12:29 am – Basement Joker Hallway
Shifting from the Cafeteria into the Joker Hallway around the padded cell, the team set themselves up around the hall and in various side rooms. No control silence was conducted during this time, and the team jumped directly into an EVP session.
During this session, Mitch reported the sound of shuffling or skittering around the workshop floor, though this was determined to likely be the sound of mice known to inhabit the Basement of Edinburgh Manor.
After no reports of further activity or any recordings of note, the team wrapped up the EVP session and departed the Basement.
12:38 am – 1st Floor Men’s Hallway
Returning from the Basement, the team set back up on the 1st Floor Men’s Hallway for another EVP session. No control silence was held, and the team leapt right into their communication session.
At 12:45 am, an unexplained noise was heard from the far side of the hall, on the women’s side of the building, and its source could not be immediately determined. The sound was not repeated, and no further activity or responses were observed during this time. Given that no further activity was noted, the team concluded their EVP session in this area.
Shortly after the conclusion of this session but before moving locations, Gravy reported movement he identified as a mouse.
12:52 am – 1st Floor Women’s Hallway
Moving to the 1st Floor Women’s Hallway, the team spread out while maintaining visual contact with each other, each in locations new to them in the hall. No control silence was conducted and the team immediately started an EVP session.
After over 10 minutes of no noted or reported activity, the team concluded their EVP session and moved up to the 2nd Floor.
1:07 am – 2nd Floor Men’s Hallway
The team spread out through the 2nd Floor Men’s Hallway and immediately started an EVP session with no control silence conducted.
After some minutes of no responses or reported activity despite numerous probing questions, the team concluded this EVP session and moved to another area of the 2nd Floor.
1:16 am – 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway
The team then moved to the 2nd Floor Women’s Hallway and spread out around the area while maintaining visual contact. No control silence was conducted and the group moved right into an EVP session in this area.
At 1:24 am, Brandon reported strange sounds from the bedroom on the north side of the hallway. He reported this at the time as sounding like three knocks, or the sound of someone sitting down on one of the creaky, noise-prone bedframes. He experienced this sound once again at 1:26 am, at which point the team took a closer investigation of this space in hopes of determining cause. At 1:30 am, the cause was determined to be a window in that room rattling with the wind, and this activity was officially debunked.
Following the debunking of the north bedroom activity, the team decided to call the investigation for the night and conclude their time at Edinburgh Manor.
Conclusion
Through two very quiet nights, Edinburgh Manor provided our team with a few personal experiences. We’d like to thank the very welcoming caretaker for allowing us to return to this location for two consecutive nights, and we look forward to returning to Edinburgh Manor again in the future.
